"My mother had a big heart. She loved everyone in the community. She used to run a feeding scheme where she fed needy residents. We have lost a giant, a person who shared everything she had with others and even encouraged many children in Daveyton to venture into acting," said Lunga.

On Sunday, 10 March, former Kaizer Chiefs star, Siphiwe received a befitting send-off.

The football fraternity, soccer fans, and community members came out in large numbers to bid farewell to Siphiwe, who was known as Dr Mnandi for his brilliant soccer analysis on a SABC sports show.

Kaizer Chiefs boss sent a message to the Mkhonza family, which was read by Amakhosi spokesman, Vina Phosa.

"I am saddened by his death. We have been with the Mkhonza family for good years. Siphiwe made a major contribution to our team.

In politics, the ANC's candidate list has gone viral.

The ANC said it noted, with concern that its candidate nomination list, which it submitted at the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) on Friday, 8 March is making the rounds on social media.

The party conveyed its concerns to IEC about the unauthorised release of personal information in potential contravention of the Protection of Personal Information Act (Popia).

ANC spokeswoman, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said: “We wish to reiterate our full confidence in the IEC’s proven track record of administering and overseeing free, fair, and credible elections over the past three decades.

“The IEC continues to do so with professionalism, impartiality, and integrity, attributes which have also extended to the secure management of confidential information."

The EFF painted Mpumalanga red on Saturday, 9 March as the party launched its provincial manifesto.

The red berets gathered at Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga, where they were addressed by party leader, Julius Malema.

He told members that it was time for them to address the enemy and not be afraid.

Malema said: “Door-to-door, let’s go and confront the enemy! Let’s go and claim the victory of the EFF! Fighters, ground forces, the time is now. Don’t be scared of them, don’t get tired, don’t be discouraged.”

He said from here they are marching to the Union Buildings in Tshwane.

IFP president, Velenkosini Hlabisa asked South Africans to trust them as the party will put them first.

Hlabisa was speaking at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday, 10 March where he delivered the party's manifesto. This was the party's first manifesto launch since the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi's passing.

Hlabisa said 2024 elections is wafa wafa.

He said these elections are like the 1994 elections where people spent two days waiting in lines to vote. He said the IFP is not coming to create false hope and make empty promises.

He said IFP speaks to the truth.
