FOLLOWING suspicions that Nkosi Msimang and the late Prince Lethukuthula Zulu were drugged, Nkosi went to Lancet to conduct tests to check what substance was used to knock them out.
Anti-depressants were allegedly found in the urine.
But when Nkosi, who was in the apartment on the night the prince died, continued his testimony, he told the court that he doesn’t take those tablets and didn’t take any on the day he was with the four accused.
The accused Tshegofatso Moremane, Gontse Thloele, Margaret Koaile and Portia Mmola appeared again in the high court in Joburg yesterday, 12 October, for their murder and theft trial.
After the ordeal with the accused, Nkosi told the court that after the ordeal, he was disoriented until he woke up the next day.
His state of disorientation may have caused him a lot of confusion as he mixed up the accused ande struggled to remember who of the accused he was intimate with.
At first Nkosi said he went with Thloele to get the money and shared a bed with her.
But he later asked the court to correct that as he was with Mmola.
He said: “It was with Mmola that I went to get the money.”
When asked when he realised that he had made a mistake, he said he noticed after his testimony on Tuesday when the newspaper articles online contained the photos of the accused.
He said he was confused by the accused as he had not seen them since 2020.
He said he couldn’t differentiate between Thloele and Mmola because in 2020 when they met, Mmola was dark and petite like Thloele but now she has gained a lot of weight.
“My plea today was for the court to revisit my submission with the confusion of the accused,” he said.

“Even yesterday, I had a very tough time identifying them.
Because it is a completely different person that I see today.
“I went home and did some digging and it came to my mind that I had mixed the two, based on complexion and body structure.”
Nkosi further said that the Thloele had bowed legs.
The lawyer for Mmola said his client has kiss madolo and that no way that could’ve changed over the course.
“If she was had bow legs then, she would still have bow legs today,” he said.
The matter has been postponed to tomorrow, 14 October.
