VELLY Thwala, who's accused of murder, has dumped his lawyer.
The 38-year-old appeared in the Mbombela High Court on Monday, 19 February.
Thwala's murder charge emanates from an incident that occurred on 19 February 2023 in Barberton, Mpumalanga.
It's alleged that the accused assaulted his 19-year-old lover, Nontobeko Msithini, to death. Upon realising that she was motionless, the accused allegedly then stuffed her body in a bag.
The shocking discovery was made by community members who had noticed blood drops coming from the bag Thwala was carrying using a trolley.
When they cornered him, he told them he was going to dispose of a carcass of his pit bull. Community members forced him to open the bag and found Nontobeko's body.

On Monday, Thwala told the court that he didn't want his legal representative anymore.
He said: "It's better for her not to continue representing me in this matter. What I want to say is that I was ready to represent myself, but I would like to request the court to be of assistance and present me with all the documents and what binds me with this matter,."
Judge Henk Roelofse then postponed the matter to next week Tuesdays, 27 February for the continuation of the trial.
Andiswa Maphanga, Msithini'a family member, said Thwala was playing delaying tactics. She told Daily Sun that he wanted to run away from the truth.
"We were ready to hear what led him to commit such a crime. Now he wants a postponement, which is another way of delaying the case. He must come back and tell us why he did what he did," she said.
