TWO men were arrested for the murder in Umgungundlovu District, KZN.

According to KZN police spokesman, Colonel Robert Netshiunda a quick response by Plessislaer police has led to the arrest of two suspects who shot dead a ward councillor and injured another person at Unit 14 in Imbali on Friday afternoon, 25 August.

Netshuinda said police responded to reports of a shooting and on arrival the vehicle in which the two victims were travelling was riddled with bullet holes.

"It was reported that two suspects approached the vehicle and opened fire on the occupants. The driver attempted to drive away but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house.

"The passenger sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh and managed to escape to safety,” he said.
