THUGS allegedly attacked and killed a prominent businesswoman and a family member at a hotel outside Ohrigstad in Limpopo on Saturday, 3 June.

The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects.

Police spokeswoman, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the police were called to report trouble on the premises. He said upon arrival, the police found two burnt bodies of a woman and man in two different houses.

"The deceased are identified as 77-year-old and 73-year-old old owner of the business and her nephew. According to information received, one man wearing a balaclava was seen fleeing the scene.

"The motive for the killing is unknown and no arrest has been made. Police investigations continue," he said.

Limpopo Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the brutal and senseless attack and called on anyone with information to contact the police.
