RESIDENTS of Jeffsville in Atteridgeville, Tshwane are complaining about a transformer that they believe is damaging their electrical appliances.

The residents told Daily Sun that the transformer has been giving them problems since last month. They said that even though the municipality fixed it after it burst last month, the problem was getting worse.

According to the residents, they continue to lose their valuables because of the transformer. They said they wanted the transformer to be replaced.

Concerned resident Selaelo Seshibe (41) said she blames the transformer for her burnt amplifier and she continues to lose globes as they burst on a regular basis.

Another resident, Bonolo Mathekga (25), said her light bulbs don’t last even a week.

“I don’t have money to replace them all the time,” she said.

City of Tshwane spokesman Lindela Mashigo said: “The city’s electricity team will replace the transformer.”
