THE man accused of killing Lulama "Guffy" Dinginto, the deputy chairwoman of the Gugulethu Community Policing Forum (CPF), appeared in court on Friday, 22 December.
Lungile Madolo (35) appeared in the Athlone Magistrates Court today after he was arrested on a bus in Graaf-Reinet last Sunday.
The court case was attended by Police Minister Bheki Cele, his deputy Cassel Mathale and other senior police officers and Reagan Allen, the MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety in the Western Cape.
Speaking to the media after the court hearing, Cele said Madolo's body language, behaviour and criminal history show that he's a career criminal.
It was revealed in court that Madolo had been arrested and convicted several times before and had spent some time in jail.

The minister said the man doesn't deserve to be walking around the communities because he's a dangerous person.
Cele said the man was first arrested between 2006 and 2008 and described him as a "hardcore criminal".
The minister said there was a trend of threatening CPF members and that the number of neighbourhood watches had increased, especially in KZN, but there were no casualties.
"This means that the criminals themselves are becoming arrogant and desperate and all that," Cele said.
Allen said the province was doing all it could to work with both the police and the CPF and other community security structures to ensure the safety of the population.
Guffy was murdered in her home on Sunday, 10 December after a man broke into her house in the middle of the night.
The suspect had allegedly been looking for her a few days earlier before killing her.
The case was postponed to Friday, 29 December.
