PROFESSIONAL nurse Pheliswa Kulu's untimely death has shocked her family and friends.
She was found dead at her home with her ID book and bank cards missing, and her boyfriend is nowhere to be found.
Her Hyundai Tucson, registration number KS 40 PV GP, is also missing.
Since the death of Pheliswa, residents and friends of the suspected boyfriend have been calling a local radio station saying the man has been spotted at several shopping complexes in the Vaal area selling biltong and wearing a face mask.
According to Pheliswa’s family, her bank cards were used in Komartipoort, Mpumalanga to transfer money to the suspect’s bank accounts.
Pheliswa (37), a hardworking nurse at Orlando Clinic in Soweto, was found dead on Tuesday, 12 April, in a bathtub at her home in Orange Farm, which she shared with her boyfriend.
Pheliswa’s mum, Doris Kulu (65), told Daily Sun that she was expecting her daughter to bring her kids’ lunch boxes as schools were re-opening on Wednesday, 12 April.
“I called her most of the night, and her phone was not going through. It was unlike her to keep her phone off, and I got worried,” she said.
Doris said they went to Pheliswa's house to check why she was not answering her phone.
She said Pheliswa’s neighbours told them they had heard loud noises on 10 April, and it seemed like the couple were fighting.
Doris said they then went to Orange Farm Police Station to ask for assistance to open the house.
“Police told us to break the door and we were shocked to find Pheliswa in the bathtub.
“We were met by the unthinkable. My daughter was dead, with bruises all over her body. I had never met the boyfriend, but my daughter had tried on several occasions to introduce him to us, but it never happened,” she said.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi told Daily Sun that cops are investigating a case of murder.
Nevhuhulwi said the circumstances that led to this incident are unknown at this stage, and cops request anyone with information to contact their nearest police station.
Pheliswa’s friend, Katlego Seeke, told the SunTeam he was heartbroken.
“She was beaten up and strangled. I cannot imagine the pain she must have felt on that day," he said.
