A MINIBUS taxi and a truck collided head-on on Thursday night, 7 September, killing six people and badly injuring four others.
The accident happened just after 11pm on the N1.29 North Witvlag approximately 7 kilometres outside of Makhado, Limpopo. Six passengers, including a three-month-old baby died at the scene. The possible cause of the crash was attributed to fatigue.
The truck was travelling south, while the Toyota Quantum was heading to Zimbabwe.

A witness told Daily Sun they were forced to go back home as the road was closed for hours to allow clean-up operations on Friday morning, 8 September.
"It was heartbreaking. I was on my way to work when I came across the incident. We had to wait for hours before the road was opened. Because some of us were already late, we just went back home," he said.
Single-lane traffic was allowed through just after 8am. As a result of the accident, some workers who were commuting from Musina, Makhado, Polokwane, and Nzhelele arrived at work late.
Some were found walking long distances to get to work. According to a driver who was travelling to Zimbabwe, they had to sleep next to the road because it was closed.
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety spokeswoman, Tidimalo Chuene, said: “From the taxi, a total of six people died; two women, one infant and three men, including the driver. The truck driver and his passenger managed to escape with minor injuries.”
