SIBONGILE Ndlovu cried tears of joy when she was reunited with her eight-month-old baby girl on Tuesday.
This after the baby was allegedly taken by her nanny, who is known as Lerato, on Monday, 5 September.
The baby was found abandoned at a local car wash in Masingitana Village outside Acornhoek, Mpumalanga by Zanele Ubisi who took her to the village induna. The nanny, who is from Lesotho, is still at large.
Sibongile (40), who’s a traditional healer, said when Lerato took the baby, she also made off with R29 000 in cash.
She said she was worried the nanny might take her daughter to Lesotho or kill her.
“I am thankful to God for saving her life. She was found unhurt at the car wash.
“ The nanny is still at large with R29 000. I pray and ask my amadlozi to trouble her. She must find no peace until she brings back my cash,” she said.
She said that she hoped the police would arrest the woman as her other kids aged six and 12 don’t feel not safe.
Sibongile said on the day her daughter was taken, she had left her with the nanny to visit her parents in Cottondale.
Sibongile said she met the nanny in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, in February, and she told her she was looking for a job.
“I trusted her story and took her home to babysit the child as I was busy with healing work.”
Police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said they are investigating a case of theft.
