PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa is set to take centre stage at the Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo to address the Day of Reconciliation celebrations on Saturday, 16 December.
In collaboration with the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture, the national department of Sport, Arts, and Culture has orchestrated a social cohesion community dialogue. The dialogue will take place at the Thulamela Library Auditorium on Friday, 15 December at 5pm.
It will revolve around the theme "Promoting active and responsible citizenry, reconciliation, and unity in a healing society."
Two months ago, Ramaphosa declared 15 December 2023 as a public holiday in celebration of the Springboks’ momentous achievement at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Paris, France.
“In celebration of the Springboks’ momentous achievement and the achievements of all our other sportsmen and women, and as a tribute to the resolve of our united nation, I am declaring Friday the 15th of December 2023 as a public holiday,” said Ramaphosa.

The dialogue's core objective is to explore the societal role in promoting healing, reconciliation, and tolerance.
It provides the community of Thulamela with a platform to voice challenges hindering social cohesion and justice, with a particular emphasis on engaging the youth.
As active and responsible citizens, all community members, especially the youth, are encouraged to participate in this significant dialogue.
The dialogue will feature engagement between panelists and the audience, discussing ways in which individual community members can actively contribute to strengthening unity and social cohesion in a healing nation.
