THE Zulu royal house has thanked President Cyril Ramaphosa for clarifying and affirming that King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini will remain the identified heir of the throne while the president is appealing the court judgment.
This was after many people were confused about what would happen to Misuzulu after Monday's judgment by Judge Norman Davis.
Davis ruled that the recognition of king Misuzulu by Ramaphosa was unlawful and invalid, and the recognition was set aside.
The Zulu royal house and Misuzulu’s spokesman, Prince Africa Zulu, said they welcome the announcement and the president’s proactive steps.
“We thank President Ramaphosa for clarifying and affirming that his majesty King Misuzulu remains the identified heir to the throne.
“His majesty is on the throne and will continue to dedicate himself to work towards the betterment of all the people of KwaZulu-Natal and the rest of South Africa where his subjects are settled, improving the lives of his subjects and strengthening and prioritizing ubukhosi bukaZulu within the republic of South Africa today,” he said.

Prince Africa said they note with great appreciation the president’s commitment to the stability of the traditional leadership of South Africa.
On Wednesday, 13 December, the president announced that he'll appeal the Gauteng Division of the High Court judgment setting aside the recognition of the Zulu king.
He also announced that following a study of the judgment, he will apply for leave to appeal against the judgment and during these legal processes, king Misuzulu will remain the identified heir to the throne.
It seems like it's business as usual for king Misuzulu after Monday's judgment as he was spotted at a Water and Sanitation Department event hosted by Minister of Water and Sanitation Senzo Mchunu in Zululand, KZN on Wednesday, 13 December.
