LUCAS Motlhasedi (37) will not forgive his nephew Thabang Motlhasedi (30).
Thabang allegedly stabbed Lucas’ mother Elsie Motlhasedi (70) on 1 August at Tambo Section, Maboloka outside Brits in the North West.
“I am pleading with my ancestors to turn against him for killing my mother in such a gruesome way.
“I don’t want them to welcome him in heaven,” said Lucas.
Lucas told Daily Sun Thabang had been suffering with demons for many years and he even abandoned traditional healing in 2017.
“When my mother sent me to buy a chicken and dog food at Letlhabile Mall at about noon, I never thought it was the last time I’d see her alive.
“If I had come late from the shops, Thabang would have cut off her head and run away with it.”
Lucas said when he got home, Thabang was holding gogo’s body and an Okapi covered in blood. He said when Thabang saw him, he jumped the fence and ran away.
Lucas said he chased him with the help of community members using his Toyota Corolla. They caught him in the bush next to Mmadikedi Middle School in Maboloka.
“He was tired. When we approached him, he took out his Okapi and stabbed me in the right arm and my hand.”

Lucas said Thabang then stabbed himself in the neck, fell and died at the scene.
Lucas’ uncle Patrick Mocumi (62) said he almost collapsed because of the incident. “I am still weak,” he said.
The family is appealing for help for the burial. He said they will both be buried on Saturday at Doornkop Cemetery in Maboloka.
Elsie is survived by two sons and two daughters, 10 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
North West police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani said police in Letlhabile were investigating a case of murder and have opened an inquest docket, after the deaths of a gogo (70) and that of a 30-year-old man.
North West police commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, has condemned the incident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family.
