LETLHABILE cops in North West are investigating cases of murder and an inquest docket after a man (30) allegedly stabbed his gogo (70) to death on Monday, 1 August.
According to Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani, the incident happened at Tambo section in Maboloka Village outside Letlhabile.
Funani said the victim’s son found the lifeless body of his mother lying in a pool of blood and his nephew was standing next to her with a knife.
“As a result, the uncle called the police and the suspect, who allegedly stabbed his granny multiple times, fled the scene. He allegedly stabbed himself with a knife and eventually fell to the ground in a bushy area while being chased by the uncle and died,” Funani said.
She said the motive for the killing was still unknown.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Sello Kwena condemned the incident and conveyed his condolences to the family.
