AMANDA Zulu (18) and Minenhle Buthelezi will never get to finish matric as they were brutally killed on the night of Saturday, 30 July.
The two pupils of Ginyane High School in Creighton, near Ixopo, KZN, were allegedly hacked with axes by two men who broke into their rented rooms near the school.
Councillor Mthobisi Dlamini said: “We were so shocked by this and the residents wanted to take the law into their own hands, but we managed to calm them down,” he said.
Dlamini said a lot of pupils rented rooms in the area to be close to the school.
KZN police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that charges of murder were being investigated by the Creighton SAPS.
