TWO men accused of murdering famous businessman Ben Gumbi appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 23 February.
But the case was postponed to 25 April for both the accused to be served with amendments.
The court awaits the decision from the director of public prosecutions (DPP) on whether to transfer the case to a regional or high court.
Daily Sun understands from an official at the court that accused number one, Sibongiseni Ngubane, intends to appeal his bail application.
Ngubane (33) was denied bail in October 2023, while the second accused, Thabani Gwala (29), abandoned his right to apply for bail in December 2023.
Ngubane was arrested on 12 September in Germiston, Ekurhuleni, while Gwala was bust on 16 November 2023 in Joburg.

The first accused, Ngubane, was denied bail in October after the state successfully opposed it.
Gumbi (49) was gunned down by two men outside a restaurant in the Rustenburg CBD, North West on 23 August 2023.
The suspects then fled the scene in a blue VW Polo car which was found a few minutes after the incident.
The vehicle was abandoned at the Corner of Helen Joseph and Lourie Streets.
Gumbi's daughter, Pontsho Motaung, said they won't lose interest in the case even though it seems to be dragging.
“We want to know the real culprit behind the killing of our father. It will give the family closure.
“We're trying to cope and heal, but his death left us with unbearable pain," she said.
Pontsho said they haven't lost hope in the justice system and believe it will not fail them.
