KENOS Mashengete (32) has made another court appearance in connection with the murder of Kevin Shingange (35).
He appeared before the Nkowankowa Magistrates Court outside Tzaneen in Limpopo on Tuesday, 23 January regarding his bail application judgment.
But the case was postponed to Tuesday, 30 January, pending the availability of the magistrate who had a medical emergency.
The incident happened when Mashengete, accused of vandalising property and assaulting patrons at a tavern, allegedly stabbed Kevin on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said Mashengete was arrested at the scene.
Kevin's sister, Elizabeth, who has since called on the court to speed up the matter so they could get closure, said they are not happy with the postponement of the case.

“We are in court every week, and this is straining. Now we have to relive the tragic scene and every last painful moment of Kevin’s death every time we get to court. We are now asking ourselves if the postponements are used as delaying tactics,” she said.
Elizabeth said the postponements are very painful as they don't know what to expect.
“We keep asking ourselves if justice will be served in this case. As a family, we are still asking ourselves so many questions as to what is going to happen in the next court appearance,” she said.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Elizabeth said all they want is for the suspect to rot in jail for her brother’s death.
“This won’t bring back Kevin but seeing the suspect moving around and having fun will kill the family,” she said.
She said she was happy as they're now receiving counselling from social workers after Daily Sun published their story on Friday, 19 January. This was after they said they needed counselling as they were struggling to deal with Kevin’s death.
