GOSSIP blogger Musa Khawula pulled a no-show in the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 23 January where he was supposed to appear in connection with his ongoing murder case.

The court orderly called Musa's name several times, but he was nowhere to be found.

Magistrate Reginald Gibson immediately issued a warrant of arrest for Musa's failure to appear in court. Musa's lawyer, who was in court, said he has been talking to his client who told him he couldn't make it to court.

The lawyer asked the court to stay the execution of the warrant of arrest to 20 February 2024, the day Musa is expected to appear in court. He also told the court that his client was based in Joburg.

The last time Musa appeared in court in October 2023, magistrate Paulette Da Rocha-Boltney, who was presiding over the matter on the day, expressed frustration about the case not moving forward due to postponements coming from Musa's side.

This after Musa's lawyer asked for a postponement as he wanted to secure medical records which they will use in their case.

When Musa appeared in court in October, he struggled to walk and when Daily Sun asked him about it, he said he sprained his ankle while walking.

Musa faces a murder charge for allegedly stabbing his ex-boyfriend, Wandile Khambule to death in March 2022 in Vredenburg. On the day of the incident, it is alleged that Musa went to the house of Wandile's girlfriend where they were having fun.

It's alleged that the two former lovebirds had an argument in the house over an undisclosed matter. The girlfriend asked them to go outside so they can "fix their issues", but a few moments later, she heard people scream asking Musa not to stab Wandile.

Wandile was allegedly running for his life when Musa chased and stabbed him.

The matter was postponed to 20 February 2024.
