SOCIAL media has been abuzz with people alleging that Musa Khawula has been jailed for the murder of his ex-boyfriend, Wandile Khambule.

The news about Khawula’s alleged conviction and sentence have been met with mixed feelings, with others sympathising with him while others are happy about the said developments.

A TikTok video that went viral claimed that Khawula is in jail.

"Musa Khawula has been imprisoned for 15 years (allegedly) because of his murder case,” said the video.

It claims that his Instagram account is being run by someone else.

Western Cape National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesman Eric Ntabazalila said he wasn't aware of Khawula being in jail.

Instead, he said Khawula was expected to appear in court in January 2024 for a pre-trial hearing. Daily Sun attended Khawula’s last court appearance on 5 October.

Khawula appeared in court, struggling to walk and he told the SunTeam that he had sprained his ankle. At his last appearance, Magistrate Paulette Da Rocha-Boltney warned him to stick to the bail conditions until he appears again.

Khawula is facing a case of murder after he allegedly stabbed Wandile to death in March 2022. It's alleged that Khawula sought out Khambule with whom he was romantically involved while he was with his girlfriend in Vredenburg.

It's alleged that the girlfriend asked Khambule and Khawula to go outside and discuss their problems. At a moment, it's said that there was an outcry from people begging Khawula not to stab Khambule with a knife, but he allegedly continued with the attack.

Khawula's case has been postponed on several occasions since the incident occurred. Cops in Western Cape did not comment on the matter.
