MPUMALANGA said it's 100% ready to host all the provinces that will be flocking to Mbombela this coming weekend for the ANC January 8 statement to be held on Saturday, 13 January, at Mbombela Stadium.
Speaking to Daily Sun, ANC Mpumalanga secretary Muzi Chirwa said as the province, they're happy that they're hours closer to the big celebration.
He said in terms of the preparations of all the people coming there, they're ready.
“It's all systems go because all the 72 000 people who are coming here will be transported through buses which have been organised by relevant departments and some will be travelling using the minibuses.
“People will be here, and the gates will be opened at five in the morning to allow the people come into the stadium earlier so that can allow the president to deliver the statement on behalf of the National Executive Committee at around 10 or 11 in the morning,” he said.

Chirwa said in terms of security measures, this is the matter that they started arranging in October 2023 and they have plus minus 300 marshals with security from the SAPS to the traffic department.
“We request from the public and the members coming here that they observe the protocol and park where they are instructed to park,” he said.
He assured the public that they do not anticipate any disruptions as they have made it known to the disgruntled members that if they have any issues to approached them so they could deal with them.
“We are not expecting any form of protest. Mpumalanga is a peaceful province and if there are any issues that any sector wants to raise, we request that matters be raised with the provincial executive committee or the leadership of the ANC as they are here.
“We are anticipating a peaceful commemoration and celebration of the ANC,” he said.
