FOUR young people who make a living by washing cars near Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga are unhappy with the ANC 112-anniversary celebration.
The four young men told Daily Sun that they'll be forced to close their business on Saturday, 13 January, as buses will be parked where they operate.
Siyabonga Sibuyi said their business has been moving slowly since the party started with the event preparations, adding that they haven't been able to make money like they usually do.
He said that although their local leaders know that they survive by washing cars, they didn't consider giving them opportunities that will bring in money for them in the meantime.
"We have not benefited anything from this event. On Saturday, we won't be able to work because all the buses will be parked on this side, and our customers won't be able to come to the car wash," he said.

Meanwhile, Phetego Monyai said they understand the importance of the event, especially for ANC members.
"We also understand President Cyril Ramaphosa will be here, but what about our businesses?
"Should we be at a standstill, while others will be making money? We are not happy with this event because it won't benefit us in any way. We are always sitting here. Our local leaders know that we survive by washing cars. They should have given us something. Even if it's not much," he said.
Thomas Mhlanga, who sells fried chips, sweets and snacks, said he hopes to make money.
He said he decided to recruit someone to assist him this weekend, so he doesn't delay his customers.
"I'm happy with this event because at the previous big event that was here in the stadium, I managed to make more money and bought equipment for my business. I'm hoping that I will make a better profit that will assist me in expanding my business."
