SOME parts of Mzansi are not yet out of the gutter as more rain is expected to creep in.
This is according to the South African Weather Service who issued a yellow level 1 warning for thunderstorms leading to heavy downpours and gusty winds over Gauteng for Wednesday, 27 September.
The weather service said the first decent thunderstorms in Gauteng may lead to minor impacts later in the day.
Furthermore, there is rain expected along the Eastern Cape coast and showers and thundershowers across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and eastern Free State.
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister Thembi Nkadimeng is concerned about the prevailing adverse weather conditions characterised by wildfires and heavy rains affecting most provinces.
As the potential for further inclement and windy weather conditions remains high, Nkadimeng has urged communities across the country to be extra cautious.

Nkadimeng also directed respective disaster management centres to activate relief and response measures to ensure the preservation of life through their rescue and recovery efforts.
Over the past week, parts of the Western Cape experienced destructive weather systems, causing damage to homes and infrastructure, electrical accidents, and flooding.
The National Disaster Management Centre is collaborating with disaster management teams and partners to provide assistance to affected communities.
Some of the worst-hit areas include the City of Cape Town, Garden Route, Central Karoo District; West Coast District, Theewaterskloof, Gugulethu, Sarah Baartman, and Nelson Mandela.
