A 22-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on Thursday, 22 February for allegedly stabbing his 54-year-old father to death.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 17 February at their home in Seshego extension 71, Limpopo.
It's alleged that Derick Mahlo arrived home late. He was allegedly drunk and engaged in a heated argument with his father, Kwena Edwin.
His mother, Daphney, who was out doing piece jobs when the incident happened, told Daily Sun: "They told me there was a lot of blood in the house. I came back running only to find my husband in a pool of blood."
Daphney said she tried to take her son to rehab, but he would run away, emphasising that he was a good boy even after using drugs.
"He would not swear at you even after smoking drugs. I'm just wondering what got into him," she said.
She said that her son is usually humble and respectful, making the situation even more confusing.
