A YOUNG boy, Amos Junior Ndlovu, who was allegedly killed by his father, was laid to rest on Sunday, 23 October.

Amos Junior (10), wha grade 3 pupil at Kudumela Primary School in Pyramid, Tshwane, was allegedly hit with a hammer and slashed with a panga on 15 October.

Daily Sun published the story on Monday, 24 October, headlined: “Why dad killed son (10).”

He was laid to rest at Mandela Village Cemetery in Hammanskraal, Tshwane.

According to the mother, Maria (39), it was a sad moment when the coffin carrying her son was lowered into the grave.

She said it will be difficult to accept that her son is no more.

Maria from Wallmansthal in Tshwane said everyone, including her son’s fellow pupils, didn’t believe that he was gone.

“I’m still weak and don’t believe that this happened to me.

“My husband killed my son out of jealousy,” she said.

She said she still remembered receiving the call that she must come home.

“My son was hit with a hammer and his left ear was deeply cut.

“He had a newspaper in his mouth so that he could not scream,” she said.

Amos Junior’s class teacher, Clara Makgata, said he one of her beautiful seeds has died.She said Amos Juniortold her that he wanted to be a soccer star one day., but he will continue with schooling no matter what. Friends, family and community who attended the funeral were still in great shock.

Neighbour Salome Mathebe said the incident was heartbreaking. and she will always remember Amos Junior for his playfulness.
