NABABEEP police in Kimberley, Northern Cape arrested three suspects on Thursday, 11 May, for contravention of the Immigration Act.

According to Sergeant Timothy Sam, cops were patrolling along the R355 road when they stopped and searched a white NP300 Nissan bakkie for a routine inspection.

He said cops detained three occupants after failing to confirm their foreign status under the Immigration Act.

“On further inspection, they found R52 170 cash that belonged to one of the occupants who could not give a proper account of the money,” Sam said in a statement.
