THE family of a missing gogo from Cokonyane Village near Taung, North West, are crossing fingers.
The cops found the human remains on Thursday, 9 February.
Kgalalelo’s daughter Patricia Naledi said: “It’s true that the police found the human skull and feet bones last Thursday.

On Monday, 13 February more bones and clothes belonging to Naledi were discovered in the same spot.
“So, on 13 February, they found my mother’s clothes and some bones.”
The bones have been taken for tests. My mother went missing almost four months ago and no one knew her whereabouts. She left the house and did not come back, so we searched for her everywhere with no luck.”
Patricia they even roped in izangoma for assistance. She added, however, all that was a futile exercise because what all the izangoma did was create confusion.
“We have been in a difficult situation and prayed for her safe return. But it seems all that did not work. Other izangoma said my mother has been killed, while others alleged that she’s still alive,” she said.

Meanwhile, the North West police spokeswoman Colonel Adele Myburgh said: “I can confirm that aAn inquest case is under investigation.” by Taung Police Station. This comes after a human skull was found on 9 February 2023 in a grazing field in Modimong. Furthermore, human bones and clothes were also discovered on 13 February 2023 in the same field. The bones were found far apart and the spine and hand bones are missing from the corpse.”
Myburgh said they suspect that the bones might be belonging to Naledi, who was reported missing on 10 October last year, because of the clothes. However, she said the DNA results are awaited to confirm the identity.
