FORMER Banyana Banyana player Khabo Zitha is happy.
She managed to make her football initiative a success.
The Mamelodi-born legendary player hosted the Khabo Zitha Women's Soccer Tournament at Muckleneuk Sports Ground in Mamelodi West, Tshwane, on Saturday, 4 November.
She said she was happy to see players from different parts participating in her tournament.
Khabo said she was happy to see even Green Buffalos from Eswatini participating.
"I didn't think there would be such a turnout. I'm walking tall after my tournament," she said.
Khabo said her annual tournament, which started in 2019, gives girls a platform to showcase their talent.
"We have a lot of talent, and when these young girls are nurtured properly, we will have a strong Banyana Banyana," she said.
Khabo said it's fulfilling seeing your girls not wandering on the streets but doing something that will benefit their future.
She said she always tells the girls everything is possible when they are disciplined and passionate about the beautiful game.

The manager of the Young Buffalos Ladies team from Eswatini, Gerald Dlamini, said they are excited to be part of the tournament.
"We are benefiting from South African football, and we are growing and getting experience," he said.
Simangele Skhondze (21) said that it's a joy to play in South Africa.
"This was an amazing opportunity, playing in front of football lovers in Mamelodi. We took each game seriously," she said.
Ntombenhle Shabangu (15), playing for Mamelodi 11 Stars ladies, said: "I want to play for big teams and Europe. These games are giving us exposure, and scouts are looking at us."
Coach for Mamelodi 11 Stars ladies, Jacob Mahlaula, said: "It's difficult to coach girls when you are a man. One needs to be disciplined."
Some teams that participated in the tournament include Cullinan Real Stars, MT Sporting, Mthakathi Ladies and Super Strikers.
