In a post-match interview, Springboks Captain Siya Kolisi said the match was not only about them as players, but it was about the country as a whole.

He said South Africa is going through a lot and as a team, they needed to put that in mind as they play.

"People who are not from South Africa don't know what this means for our country. It's not just about the game on the field. Our country goes through such a lot, and we are bearing hope that they have. We're just grateful that we can be here," Kolisi said.

"I just want to tell the people of South Africa that thank you so much. Children from a third world country who just fight over and over for the people that need hope, and this team shows what diversity can do for our country."

Kolisi said as soon as they work together, all is possible, no matter in what sphere, in the field or in offices.

The team are expected to return to Mzansi on Tuesday, 31 October.
