GOGO's prayer only saved her kitchen, but her two-roomed shack burnt down on 23 November.
She has not had the means to rebuild her home after the fire.
Gogo Marry Dlamini (63) said when the big fire started at Koos de la Rey informal settlement in Pretoria North, Tshwane she was standing in front of the kitchen and saw a man running towards her.
"It was like a movie. It happened so fast, and I was powerless," she said.
Gogo Marry said she only had a few buckets of water that were used to kill the fire, but the blaze was too strong.
She said she lost her two-roomed shack.
"I thank God for saving my life. I prayed for the whole day and night," she said.

The gogo said God gave her children another chance because she prays for them daily.
Marry said she is staying with her 23-year-old child, who is a colleged student.
She said they lost everything, including her books.
"Everything we had is buried under this burnt rubble. We couldn't save anything. Now we have to spend Christmas differently, in a kitchen.
"When the fire started, I was thinking about children who normally play around. I was looking for them to check whether they were ok. I was powerless, I couldn't run, I had to stay very far," she said.
Tshwane Emergency Services spokesman deputy chief Charles Mabaso said: "The Emergency Services Department responded to a fire in an informal settlement after receiving multiple calls reporting that a fire had broken out at Koos de la Rey informal settlement in Pretoria North at about 3.50pm on 23 November 2023."
