This man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife.

ALL she wanted was to know if her husband was okay.

She was worried about her husband, who had been drinking too much lately. But that irritated him as he took a beer bottle and bashed his wife on the head with it.

The husband is now behind bars, facing a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The 53-year-old husband was arrested by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) on Monday, 29 January and appeared in the Daveyton Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 31 January and the case has been postponed to next Wednesday, 7 February.

"The bleeding wife managed to go to the Daveyton Police Station on Monday, 29 January where a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm was registered," said Thepa.
