THE controversial disbarred Advocate Malesela Teffo appeared in Court 62 at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre.
After being dumped by two lawyers, Teffo opted to represent himself on Wednesday, 11 October.
Teffo was arrested on Tuesday, 1 August. He faces charges of malicious damage to property, assault, and theft.
He was supposed to appear and take the stand, but he refused.
He had previously represented the four accused the case of slain Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
In May 2023, he was banned from attending the Meyiwa trial.
Teffo has been in custody since his arrest and has been refusing to allow his fingerprints to be taken, claiming that he was assaulted on the day of his arrest.
He also said his arrest was unlawful.
“I've been forced to be here, and I was assaulted,” he said.

He said the prosecutor lied to the magistrate that he was charged when he wasn’t.
“There's no provision that says the police can take any person whom they have arrested on the street without a warrant of arrest, force them to come before the court, and these people tell the magistrate that this person is not charged,” he said.
He said the state prosecutor must be struck off the roll.
“Why would she tell lies unless they can say I don’t have the rights?” he said.
The magistrate told Teffo that he was willing to listen to him but asked him to tell him something new.
Teffo accused the magistrate of being biased and racist.
“You sound very impatient to me and clearly you are biased. Constitutionally so, it's within my right when I feel like there's comprehension of biasness not only that also of being racist,” he said.
The matter was postponed to 8 November.
