POLICE Minister Bheki Cele told cops he's not going to collect their dead bodies as if they carry broomsticks instead of guns.
He said this during the annual Festive Season Inspection Roadshow at Saul Tsotetsi sports ground in the Vaal on Tuesday, 19 December.
Cele told cops not to turn back any woman who had come to report abuse. He encouraged cops to rather stop whatever they're doing to assist the abused victim.
"No woman or child should be abused," he said.
He ordered the police to check people who have outstanding cases and those who are wanted suspects, so the streets can be free of criminals.

According to Cele, Sebokeng is one of the most problematic regions with a high crime rate of hijackings and murder. He told the cops to patrol the streets of Gauteng in numbers. This in order to make sure people who're shopping can be safe at malls and those who will be on vacation, could have their homes safe too.
The visit forms part of efforts by the SAPS to channel resources to areas where they are most needed.
Cele also visited Boiketlong informal settlement which in the past few months, has become a crime hotspot that gives residents sleepless nights. The area has a high number of Basotho nationals, and residents told Cele that at 7pm, no one walks in the streets. Residents said every night sounds of gunshots can be heard.
A resident told Daily Sun they are mugged on the streets every day.
"At times the criminals gain access into our homes and take whatever they want. We're unable to identify them because they wear balaclavas," she said.
The policing interventions will enable cops to decisively deal with crime and any security threats this holiday season, and beyond. The police ministry together and the SAPS management team from national and provincial, led by national commissioner General Fannie Masemola and the Gauteng deputy provincial commissioner Major-General Tommy Mthombeni, assessed the effectiveness of the police Safer Festive Season operational plans put in place.
This in the effort to ensure the well-being and safety of all residents and tourists in Mzansi during the holiday period.
The Gauteng leg of the Roadshow will include visits to areas of business, entertainment, and leisure as well as police operations in high crime areas.
