WOULD you allow amaphela to be released into your house in exchange for a fee?
Well, a North Carolina company in the USA is offering homeowners $2 000 (about R31 000) for them to allow 100 cockroaches to be released into their homes.
According to Fox News, a company called The Pest Informer is making this "genuine" offer to test a specific pest control technique, and see how effective it is.
It has been reported that five to seven houses will be selected for the study after signing up. Householders will allow the company to set free at least 100 cockroaches in their homes and give it permission to film the pest control method.

“At the end of the study, if the cockroach infestation isn't gone, the company says it will use 'traditional cockroach treatment options at no cost',” the article read.
And for one to be eligible for the study, homeowners needed to meet these requirements:
1. Own the home or have written approval from the owner.
2. Be 21 years or older.
3. Be located in the Continental United States.
4. Not to try any additional cockroach treatment during the duration of the study.
“The study will take 30 days. And according to the company, the cockroach treatments used are family- and pet-safe,” said The Pest Informer in a statement.
