CONCERNED residents want a home in their kasi to be investigated.
They claim a gogo was allegedly raped by one of the workers at the facility in the Ekurhuleni kasi.
They also claimed workers allegedly abused the elderly and vulnerable people staying there.
They said they felt helpless as social workers based at the centre allegedly swept things under the carpet. And they claimed the Gauteng Department of Social Development was not doing anything to help.
On Monday, 24 April, they marched to the home to hand over a memorandum.

Community leader Laly Skosana said they received information about the gogo who was allegedly raped by a worker in November 2022. She said nothing was done.
"A concerned resident who has been trying to be a whistleblower has now been taken to court to silence her," said Laly.
"We have been barred from seeing this gogo and we want to open a case on her behalf as the rape happened last year in November," she claimed.
"This gogo confided in someone about being raped by a worker and this person told us. Residents said they are worried this case will just disappear."
She claimed an elderly man was allegedly being threatened with violence and eviction.
"He told us they put his clothes at the door threatening to evict him several days ago. We are not going to keep quiet while our elders are ill-treated," she said.
Motsamai Motlhaolwa, spokesman for Gauteng social development, said the matter was being investigated.
Constable Ntando Mbonani of Daveyton Police Station said the police are also investigating the allegations of rape which were raised by residents.
Fanie Tshabalala, chairman of home's board, said they were going to sit down and select members of the community to be part of the discussions after the allegations surfaced.
He said this would also form part of the investigations. He said they would reply to the community's memorandum after seven days.
