TWO women who are friends were found murdered with one's hands tied up in a rope in Lotus Gardens, Tshwane.

According to their family members, both the deceased were found with stab wounds all over their bodies.

A boyfriend to one of the women was then allegedly set alight and burnt to death by an angry crowd in Atteridgeville on Friday, 1 September.

Family member Thai Molefe (26) said the bodies of her aunt Emily Nonyane (48) and her friend, Tidimalo Marokane (42), were found on Wednesday, 30 August at about 11pm.

She said the boyfriend was found drinking alcohol and relaxing on a couch while the dead bodies laid on top of each other next to a bed in the bedroom.

Thai said her aunt lived with her 32-year-old boyfriend.

"They died a painful death and we don't know what led him to killing them," she said.

She said on Saturday, 26 August the family buried their gogo, Maria Nonyane (77) and the deceased was part of the funeral.

"My aunt was always complaining that her boyfriend was abusing her and that he was from Phase 4 in Lotus Gardens. We are deeply hurt and it's hard to accept that my aunt is gone. We are appealing for counselling," said Thai.

Emily's brother, Ezekiel Nonyane (52), said the incident was very bad and traumatizing.

Tidimalo's family said the suspect came in the morning at about 8am on 29 August to fetch Tidimalo and told her that there was a part-time job for cleaning windows around kasi and that’s where they last saw her alive.

Another family member, Thabang Marokane (20), said her aunt Tidimalo even said goodbye to him and said she would be back.

When Daily Sun asked how the boyfriend was killed, both families declined to answer saying that they only knew that angry community members burnt him to death.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said: "Cases of murder were recorded with the police and no one has been arrested."
