ANGRY residents took it upon themselves to track down and burn to death an unknown man who allegedly raped two elderly women aged 60 and killed one of them.
The horrific incident happened in Manavhela Village, Limpopo on Friday, 12 April.
The rape and murder of Rosinah Ramasimu happened on Thursday, 4 April.
Rosinah and her friend were attacked while collecting firewood, which they sold to make a living.
It's alleged that the suspect thought both gogos had died, but the survivor only fainted and woke up later.
The survivor said she found her friend naked and was also naked when she woke up, and she crawled until she reached her home.
It's reported that the suspect was found roaming in the bush, and weapons such as knives, pangas, and pepper sprays were discovered in his bag.
"The mob arrived after hearing the commotion from those who found him, and he was disciplined decisively," said a resident.

They claimed that they interrogated the suspect, and he confessed to allegedly killing many people who were missing from the community.
When asked about not involving the police, the residents expressed a lack of confidence in the Vuwani Police Station.
"We have many murder cases pending in our area, and it seems the police don’t care," said one of the residents.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the cops in Vuwani have launched a massive hunt for the suspects responsible for the murder of the unknown male person who was allegedly burnt to death.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered the burnt body of a person who was allegedly attacked by members of the community.
"The victim's identity is not yet known, and the motive for the attack is still under police investigation. A case of murder has been opened, and police have intensified their investigation to trace and arrest the suspects responsible," said Ledwaba.
Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe strongly condemned the incident.
"We always urge the community to refrain from vigilantism and seek assistance from the police, local leadership, as well as community-based crime structures rather than taking the law into their own hands," said Hadebe.
