MATRICULANTS say home languages were tricky and challenging.
This is according to matric pupils Kgothatso Msibi (18) and Tumelo Philemon (19) from Thuto Lesedi High School in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni.
The duo was among the thousands of matriculants around the country who were writing their final exams, and the two wrote Sotho paper two.
"The home language paper had tricky questions, but since I've prepared myself before the exams, I managed to answer the questions, and I'm expecting to get over 90%," Kgothatso said.
"The paper was difficult, especially questions four and six. It was tough, but I managed to get it and answer all the questions," Tumelo said.
The matriculants from DC Marivate Secondary School in Soshanguve, Tshwane told Daily Sun everything that was on the exam papers they had learned about it.
The pupils said they easily flowed in Sepedi home language paper two and expected over 70% and distinctions.
Reamogetse Tau (17) said the paper was very nice compared to paper one.

"I'm expecting a distinction and bachelor pass. I'm aiming to achieve high," she said.
She said she would love to do a bachelor's in economics and wants to study at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Thabisa Kekana (18) said he enjoyed writing Sepedi home language paper two, and it was easy.
"We revised everything about the exams we wrote today," he said.
Karabo Letswalo (18) said: "We passed with distinction and want to go to university and further our education."
In the North West, pupils from Tswaedi High School said they enjoyed writing Tswana paper two.
Didintle Molebatsi (18) said the exam was simple because they were prepared for it.
She said she did so well that she is sure of a pass.
Aobakwe Mdluli (18) said the paper was straightforward.
"I knew the books and poems in the question paper well. Everything in the paper we had prepared for it. My best poem was Ga se Lorato."
Khanyisile Ndlovu said she also found the paper enjoyable.
"It was simple and fun to write," she said.
Ripfumelo Nkuna (19) said she wrote well and expected a distinction.
