ZAKES Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman have made Mzansi proud.
They have been nominated in the Best Global Performance category at the Grammy Awards for their song Bayethe. The musicians told Daily Sun they were over the moon when they heard the news.
Wouter already has one Grammy under his belt as he won Best New Age Album for his 2014 album Winds of Samsara.
“This is incredible, a dream come true! I loved creating Bayethe with Nomcebo and Zakes. I’m thrilled to receive this, my fourth Grammy nomination,” he said.
“It’s very exciting to share South African music with the world and we hope we spread some beautiful, good energy with this song.”

Nomcebo, who is currently in France for her world tour, said she hoped they brought the award home.
“I feel incredibly blessed and excited. I honestly didn’t expect it to come through so soon but praise God,” she said.
Zakes, whose real name is Zakhele Madida, said it happened just as he was starting to think it was time for him to retire from music.
“This is the biggest highlight of my career. Grammy Awards are big and not everyone gets a nomination. One must be very good to get it,” he said.
“I’m short of words. I don’t know what to say because saying I’m excited would be an understatement.”
This comes after the 42-year-old was nominated in four categories at the All Africa Music Awards to be held in Dakar, Senegal, in January.
