THE Ntenga Foundation, which received R250 000 when Team Ntencane won Clash of the Choirs SA on Sunday, 17 December has unveiled what they will do with the money.
Team Ntencane won against Team Vusi Nova and walked away with R1 million and R250 000 to donate to a non-profit organisation.
They donated the money to the Durban-based foundation, Ntenga Foundation, which was also invited to attend the finale. The foundation said they will provide residents with boreholes and pupils with toilets.
Siyanda Ntenga, founder of Ntenga Foundation, told Daily Sun they've been helping Mzansi for 13 years.
“We have a programme of helping residents and schools with water and sanitation, and we will use that money to do that because KZN is currently facing a water shortage because of drought.
“We will identify an area where there's no water at all and drill a borehole for them. Many residents are struggling for water in KZN, but we will choose those who are struggling the most,” he said.

He said as they're dealing with KZN, they've noticed that many places don’t have water at all while others have dry taps.
“Because the year 2023 is coming to an end, all of that will be our 2024 programme. We will identify a dry place and identify a school to build toilets for pupils," said Siyanda.
He said they are grateful that Ntencane chose them to be a beneficiary of Clash of the Choirs.
“Ntencane called when they entered the competition, and he was patient because there were many times where he couldn't reach me on my phone.
“He called me when he didn’t know whether they would win or not and when we attended the finale, we kept in mind that as much as we were trusting the Ntencane team, anything was going to happen. When they won, we were happy because it was also our win as well,” he said.
