The funeral service of the slain Tshwane popular DJ is currently underway at Ga-Masemola, Apel Cross in Limpopo.

The funeral service was delayed by a hour, this after police and a security detail had to do a security sweep, at the venue, where mourners are seating.

The musician and businessman Oupa 'DJ Sumbody' Sefoka (38) was gunned down, alongside his bodyguard and driver, Wolter Sbusiso, in a drive-by shooting at Woodmead in Johannesburg in the early hours of Sunday, 20 November.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the killers.

Gauteng Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said the police in Gauteng are searching for suspects and investigating circumstances that led to a shooting in Woodmead where two people died and one was seriously injured, in the early hours of Sunday, 20 November 2022.

He said police received a complaint about a shooting incident at the corner of Woodmead Drive and Woodland Drive at approximately 00:30.

"Upon arrival at the scene, police found two people inside a VW Golf with gunshot wounds. Both victims, a driver, and a passenger were certified dead on the scene. It was reported that the third victim, who was driving a BMW X5, was taken to the nearest medical care center after sustaining gunshot wounds," he said.

Masondo said the motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.

Gauteng Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Tommy Mthombeni, has activated maximum resources to trace suspects responsible for this shooting.
