Linda Majola is happy to reopen his business.

UZALO actor Linda Majola was heartbroken when he had to close his food truck, Humble Cafe, in 2023.

But he's reopening his business now.

This time, he has bought a house which he will operate in.

Linda (27) from Durban, KZN, who plays as Mzamo on the SABC1 show, spoke to Daily Sun about getting to open his restaurant again.

“So, when I closed in 2023, it was because the expenses were high, and we weren’t making that money back. But I’ve made peace with the fact that businesses that have to do with coffee, food, and cafes are not high-profit margin businesses, but even though I feel like they are valuable because they bring communities together.

“That’s why I had to reopen. It’s a community thing. I remember the positive impact Humble Cafe had on the community. It didn’t give me that much money, but I got experience because I interacted with people. They would come to relax, work, and socialize. The community element was the best thing for me. So, even if I break even, I’ll still be grateful,” he said.

The actor shared a video of the house he bought. It needs revamping before he can officially reopen the business.

“I put a down payment on the house, and I’m still hoping for the community to come together in rebuilding it. The house is in Durban. It’s still the same type of community, but it’s more central now. It is in the hub of Durban.

“I’ve called upon the community to donate if they’re able to. Not only with money but resources, knowledge, and advice. Right now, I need to fundraise money for the renovations, which is what we are busy with. There’s a lot of work to be done,” he said.

He said he learnt a thing or two about business since having to close and learned the power of collaboration.

“This time, I’m really going to surrender and allow for collaboration. Last time, it was just me and my grandma on a smaller scale. Now it’s more of a community project. I’ll cultivate a lot of collaborations with different people and sectors. I can achieve more things with my community and the people that are helping and holding my hand," Linda said.

He studied catering management at the Durban University of Technology.
