FIVE of the seven suspects linked to the murders of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane are expected back in the Durban Magistrates Court on Thursday, 14 March.

The suspects, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi (30), Lindelani Ndimade (30), Siyanda Myeza (22), Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29), will be applying for bail.

The five accused first appeared on 29 February.

During their first appearance, AKA’s dad Tony Forbes, Police Minister Bheki Cele and KZN police commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi were in attendance.

On 26 February, police confirmed they had arrested the suspects in connection with the murders and on Tuesday, 27 February, two of the murder suspects, brothers Siyabonga and Melusi Ndimande, were arrested while hiding in Eswatini.

They appeared in the Manzini Magistrates Court in Eswatini for an extradition application on Wednesday, 12 March.

The matter was postponed again as South Africa still hadn't filed the extradition application. The extradition application hearing was postponed to Wednesday, 20 March.

The Ndimande brothers were remanded in custody in Eswatini.

When their extradition application is granted, they, along with the other five suspects, will be back in South Africa to face AKA's murder charges.

AKA and his friend Tibz were gunned down execution-style at The Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023.
