INDUSTRY colleagues, relatives, friends, and fans continue to pay tributes to artist, MC, and TikTok sensation Lebogang "Aus Velemina" Ledwaba, who died on Wednesday, 10 April following a brief illness.

Radio DJ Ofentse Mathopa, aka Mawisa, who played a significant role in Aus Velemina's blossoming career, said she reached out to help obtain a radio interview in Tshwane.

Mawisa believes their friendship grew stronger while he pursued an MC and deejaying career.

"Seeing him visit our schools, excelling in motivating and giving hope to township youngsters, is a fond memory I'll forever cherish of him," she said.

"The biggest lesson I took from him is to never take myself for granted and to take my brand seriously because I'm very good at what I do," Mawisa said.

She said she'd never be hesitant to name her pricing when booked for gigs, as her buddy Vee advised her.

Vusi Ndaba, aka Mavusana-Vhoo, said he and Aus Velemina met on social media, and when they eventually met at Sosh Shisanyana, the rest was history.

"We clicked and became friends and colleagues in the industry. I'll forever miss his smile and laughter. I'm so hurt, but I'll be fine," he said.

Kagiso Maduna, aka Undurscor, said he met Aus Velemina after a gig in Cosmo City, north of Joburg.

He said that they had only spoken twice on the phone about a collaboration that they wanted to do together, and due to lockdown limits, it didn't happen.

"The delay only deepened our bond until we met and accomplished so much, and we shared so many insights, not to mention the support we gave to each other. One thing I will remember him for is changing my life by teaching me never to settle for less than my worth," said Undurscor.

Undurscor said the last time he spoke to Aus Velemina, he wasn't pleased that I had revealed my identity, and he never wanted me to, which is why he won't attend the funeral with his true face.

A floral tribute drop-off will be held at Mokopane Street in Mamelodi East on Thursday, 18 April, between 3pm and 6pm, and the funeral will take place on Saturday, 20 April.
