SABC1 motivational speaker Dr Thobani Makhaza encourages young people to consider studying at TVET colleges.
The 35-year-old Thobani motivates SABC1 viewers every Wednesday morning on Listen for a Moment programme.
He has set up an organisation called Mind Empowers Youth Organisation (Meyo) to help the disadvantaged youth with tuition fees.
Thobani told Daily Sun that it's important to him that the youth get a good education to survive.
"Those who make it to universities are lucky. Those who didn’t make it have the chance to study at TVETs.
"We invite the youth to apply for Meyo bursaries or visit our offices in Anton Lembede Street in Durban. The deadline is Friday, 9 February," he said.
He said the youth should understand that not finishing school is not the end of the world, but that the ability to do something is the key that opens many doors to work.

Dr Thobani, who hails from Richards Bay but lives in Durban, was honoured with an honorary doctorate in human development by Emmanuel Bible Institute in 2020 for his hard work on behalf of the youth of Mzansi.
He said he started helping the underprivileged youth with intuition fees 15 years ago and has assisted more than 100 000 young people realise their dreams.
"We are helping the youth in all nine provinces, and we take 1 000 people per province,” he said.
