THE Cool Dads Foundation will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary in music.
The foundation, created by Bongani Luvalo, aims to spread love through a love concert called the Love Potion on Friday, 16 February, at the Carnival City Arena in Ekurhuleni.
The foundation was established to help encourage men to be present fathers and positive role models and teaching them about their rights and responsibilities, as well as sharpening their parenting skills.
Luvalo said the Love Potion concert is themed on love and celebrates the month of love.

The concert will feature Sjava, Mandisi Dyantyis, Loyiso Gijana, Thabo "Tbose" Mokwele, and Okolom.
“This concert is not only about a celebration of love but the promotion of authentic fatherhood, which is the aim of the Cool Dads Foundation,” said Luvalo.
Luvalo said he and his friends started the Cool Dads Foundation after they realised that many dads played little active roles in the upbringing of their children.
“The foundation promotes positive fatherhood through picnics and camps between fathers and their children, parenting seminars and workshops, big brother mentorship programmes, as well as lobbying, advocacy and legal counsel to teach fathers about their rights and responsibilities, especially unmarried fathers,” he said.
He said there's no strict definition of what a Cool Dad is, and would like all those who interact with them to define it in their own terms.
“We want emotionally and physically present dads who are loving, understanding, selfless and compassionate among a range of qualities. They should also be disciplined and provide guidance. In simple terms, a Cool Dad is a ‘dad with passion for fatherhood’,” he said.
