Award-winning singer Thandiswa Mazwai is taking her previously sold-out show, A Letter to Azania, to Cape Town.
She’ll perform at Artscape Theatre Centre this coming Saturday, 25 February.
Thandiswa recently held A Letter to Azania in Joburg and in Durban last year, and both shows sold out soon after tickets were opened.
The Nizalwa Ngobani singer told SunBuzz she is over the moon to finally be taking the show to the Mother City.

“It has been such a long time since I have had a show in Cape Town and I am so excited to finally bring A Letter to Azania to my family eKapa.
“Fans are in for a show like never before,” said the legendary singer.
Thandiswa said the show is inspired by Che Guevara’s concept of revolutionary love.
“The show opens with the words of revolutionary Che Guevara, ‘the revolution is driven by great feelings of love, a love for the people, a love for country, and a love for justice’.
“We will create new worlds and calls us all to awaken our imagination and remember the teachings of old as we forge a new world,” she said.
She said she feels the show has more importance right now as South Africa battles so many social issues.
“It is as important now, more than ever, to speak truth to power and unify the people of this country under an ethos of ubuntu and justice,” she said.
The singer said she hopes fans buy tickets and attend the show.

“It is my work’s greatest aspiration that people come to my show and feel a shift somewhere within them. I believe in love, and its power to transform things and moments.
“I also believe in justice. Music and performance is how I share those aspirations with the world,” she said.
