COMEDIAN and actor Stopnonsons appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 10 August.

Stopnonsons, who wore a black hoodie and camouflage pants, faces charges of assault and pointing a firearm.

This after the 31-year-old, whose real name is Tumi Matila, allegedly assaulted and pulled what looked like a gun on his girlfriend Thando Ngemane and her friend.

He was arrested at Honeydew Police Station on Tuesday, 8 August.

During court proceedings, the state prosecutor said the comedian was arrested for two counts of assault and for having what they believed was a firearm.

It was alleged that he has been threatening Thando, and he also threatened to kill her and her friend during the altercation.

Stopnonsons looked relieved when the court said he should return to the dock on Friday, 11 August for bail application as his case was supposed to be postponed until Thursday, 17 August.

On Wednesday, 9 August, police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the comedian was arrested and charged with assault and pointing a firearm.
