INTERN doctor Nqubeko Langa has many reasons to smile.
The 26-year-old has thanked maskandi singer Khuzani Mpungose for opening doors for him and making his dreams come true.
When Nqubeko passed his matric at Mhlwaneni High School in Ladysmith, KZN, with distinctions, he had no money to register at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in UKZN in 2016. But Khuzani came to his rescue.
Nqubeko from Driefontein in Ladysmith, KZN Midlands, said when he passed his matric, he had no one to help him with his registration fees.
"While we were still in the dark about where we would get the registration fee as no one in my family had money, Khuzani helped me even though he didn’t know me. I want to thank Khuzani because he helped me and opened doors for me after I had worked hard. What Khuzani did opened doors for me and that was very important for me," he said.
The maskandi star from Nkandla surprised Nqubeko and donated R6 000 towards his registration fee.
Now Nqubeko is an intern doctor at Addington Hospital in Durban and Khuzani visited him at work on Wednesday, 31 January.

Nqubeko said he wanted to visit Khuzani at his home in Nkandla if all goes well, to officially thank him for doing something for him.
He started his internship at Addington in 2022 and his contract ends in June 2024.
Khuzani said education is at the forefront of his heart.
"When I see someone succeeding it encourages me and I see myself helping all residents. I'm glad that he is now going to change the situation at home. I wish him all the best, and I hope that he will also help others when he becomes successful," he said.
