IN 19 seasons of South African Idols SA, only the winner had the opportunity to be signed under a record label.
But this year, things are different.
The three finalists will be signed under Feel Good CSR, led by rapper and Idols SA judge Thabo Bogopa, known as JR.
The three Thabo, Princess and Faith have already recorded their new singles with the production.
JR said they are excited about having them.
“We’ve been in the studio. They’ve come to the office for two weeks in a row. They’ve met our team and everyone from our distribution to our digital team, and they took to it like a fish in water. They are excited, and we are excited as a business,” he said.

JR said what’s important is that they decided to exercise their right to take up all three.
“This is a first. Princess is part of the family, Thabo is, and so is Faith,” he said.
The rapper said their record label joined the singing competition because they were searching for great talent.
“We’ve always supported the arts and emerging developing artists. Last year, my business partner Chris Ghelakis was the guy who signed me in 2008 as an artist until we did our label transaction deal, and we became Feel Good CSR,” JR said.
He said their relationship gives them power to be where they are.
“We are not only a business that is seeking to export African music but also a business that believes in young artists and development,” he said.
“Idols SA has been the platform that has exposed talent and given people the opportunity and platform."
