DJ Tcee said when his parents died from Covid-19, he expressed his pain through music.

HE was broken when he lost both his parents to Covid-19.

And for him to heal his broken heart and for comfort, he did what he knew best.

He produced a song to heal himself and people who've lost their loved ones.

International Afrotech DJ Tcee, whose real name is Sixolile Mpahlwa, recently released the song Aftermath

The 40-year-old from Bloemfontein in the Free State said the inspiration behind the project is loss.

The world was first introduced to Tcee when he appeared in the Chicago-based Grimes magazine in November 2020.

“The new project is about when you lose a person you love and dealing with the aftermath of the loss,” he said.

Tcee said his family didn’t take the deaths well.

“It was devastating for the rest of my family because that’s who we have known for the rest of our lives. So, I found my escape through music and have not looked back since,” he said.

The musician said the industry has been great to him.

“It has its challenges, but you just have to focus on your goals and never stop moving forward with your goals,” he said.

Tcee said he's now working overseas.

“People who support me can expect more work from me in the UK, African continent countries and mostly the Free State. I'm also currently doing two residencies, one in Turkey and another in Canada,” he said.
